Help needed please....

My son has been sick the last few days with a temp and diaherra - we went to the dr and he said its a viral thing...however the child has not slept in two days!! he refuses to take a nap, he didn't sleep at all last night - every time we tried to put him down, he screamed bloody murder -- same thing with todays nap....his tummy seems to b e ok as he has been taking milk and reg food again....i know he is over tired - well beyond that i am sure (so am i)....suggestions??? he needs sleep sooo bad!

    DS never sleeps well when he isn't feeling well. We usually resort to our newborn tricks- rocking to sleep, driving him in the car, co-sleeping, etc.  Did they check his ears? The screaming when lying down strikes me as a possible ear infection.

    the dr did check his ears and they are fine...we tried rocking, co sleeping andcar rid...

    Have you tried ibuprofen or tylenol? Sorry you guys are having such a rough time.  Hope he feels better soon.

    when dd is really sick, the only way she will sleep (and even then not well) is if I'm holding her and gently bouncing on a ball.  it's tiring, but it generally only lasts one night or one night and one day before she can sleep without being held.
