Portable Potties?

Just wondering what other toddler moms use for potties when you are on the go? I was looking at the Mother's Helper fold up seat, but my DS is showing a total distaste for public restrooms so I want something that won't intimidate him.

Re: Portable Potties?

  • We LOVE the little portable potty that folds up and uses the little plastic bags inside.  They have come in handy on the side of the road, or when I have just put the frozen groceries into the hot car and a pee-pee attack comes and I don't want to head back into the store's restroom while letting the groceries melt.  I hate public restrooms, so we get good use out of the little car potty.  I think it is the Potette potty that we have.  Best $15 we have ever spent!!!!!

  • I had one of those Bjorn knock offs from IKEA in our trunk, $3. But that's not somehting you'd carry around, per say.  We actually had them in every bathroom when she was training, as she went when I went.

FWIW, Ava hates the loud flushing sounds and the auto-flush thing, so I have to put a strip of TP over it, so it does not go off. Best get him used to it now, or PT'ing's gonna stink ;-)  (make it fun or something, maybe he gets to plunk a bug sticker in there and gets to "wave goodbye" or something, just to distract him. Sing songs, etc. be a dork... just distract from what he's fearful of)
