Re: Opinions?
It came in handy at the beginning because it was a GREAT place to change diapers. We rarely used it for naps but that happened in the newborn period. We used it when we traveled and have had other people use it for their LO's when they came to visit. So, I think it was definitely worth buying/registering for!
We used ours a lot. We have a 2 story house, all the bedrooms are upstairs and the living areas are all on the main floor, in the beginning it was a great diaper station and nap area. We also have a pool and would set it up for diaper changes, naps etc. It's also a great place for containment while you grab a shower.
I wished I had gotten one with a newborn napper, those look nice in the beginning also.

When Jacob was a newborn, we had it set up in the family room. It was a great place for naps, diaper changes or a playpen.
As he got older, we do use it less and less. But when we need it, I don't know what we would do without it. He sleeps in it when we go to visit the ILs and other kids can sleep in it when they are here.
We even took it to the beach with us when he was an infant and he slept in it on the beach.
I think its a great investment. You don't have to get one with all the bells and whistles. But its a valuable thing to have!

I was so excited for mine but Garrison never slept in it. We did use it as a second changing table on our main floor for a few months until she outgrew that. we ended up getting a Baby Bjorn, so much more comfortable and easy to actually "pack". Highly recommend it.
Congratulations!!

Worth every single penny...and then some.
Caroline used hers a ton when we traveled a lot, and since she outgrew her swing, we use it for containment when I need to take a shower.
We also have a cheaper one that we leave at my Mom's house.
ETA: She also slept in it for months when she was a newborn, and when she outgrew the bassinet part, we went to a regular mini crib in our bedroom before she went to her nursery at 6.5 months old.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

We got a hand me down from a friend and I'm glad we did because we don't use it very often. For DS1 we briefly used it as a play pen, but our house isn't that big so it takes up a lot of space to have open and handy all the time.
We use it when we travel and as pp mentioned it is a guest bed for friends' children. That is actually the most common use at our house. DS2 has only used it as a crib when we went camping.
Yes, I don't think you need all of the bells and whistles but it is nice. We have a two floor house and we use(d) it a lot as a changing station and for naps.
Ok, but how are you 30 weeks already???!!! So excited for you!
We didn't have a PNP but we have a co-sleeper. We had the full size one and the girls slept together until they were almost 6 months in the bassinet feature before we moved them to cribs. I have little (no) experience really with the PNP but I'd get a co-sleeper if for no other reason than the higher weight limit on the bassinet.
Worth every penny, and then some! We have 2 of the cheapest ones, and use them both. We just moved and had to live with my family for 3 weeks before the new house was ready - the kids slept in those for every nap and at night.
We also use them almost daily - if I need to contain someone and keep them safe while I am off doing something else (putting the other one down for a nap, going to put something in for dinner, etc).
TOTALLY worth it - but you can get the basic one. I have never once wished that we had the newborn napper or changing station. I use it for sleeping or containment!
Because we're fancy like that.
For this child I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him.
