Baby Names

So Lost w/ Boy Names!!!

We had come up with Greyson Parker and then two days later he said he didn't want to name him that because kids are cruel and would call him "Gayson." All of this was said by one of our friends and now DH is paranoid. Anyway, so after a little more brain storming DH and I came up with another name. DS name is Skyler Shane so the two have to flow together.

 Greyson Parker or Peyton Harper

 What do you all think?

  • Peyton and Harper are both unisex names, with Harper primarily belonging to the girls now. If you go with Peyton, I would definitely find a different mn, as many people will look at that name and assume girl.

  • I prefer Greyson to Peyton, I like just Grey alot too.
  • I like Greyson better than Peyton.

Other suggestions - Chase, Mason, Logan, Gavin, Travis, Brendan, Riley, Landon, Callum, Holden, Lincoln, Weston, Dawson, Harrison

With a name like Peyton Harper it could appear to be a girl's name, which may get your kid teased instead.  Choose the original choice if you like it.  A nn of Gayson is not a good reason to not use the name.  Seems silly imo.

  • No offense, all these names seem feminine. The Skyler name sounds like a stripper.
  • I agree w/ pp ? I would assume Peyton Harper is a girl. If you like Greyson, use it. It is a very popular/trendy name for boys, so he probably won't be the only Greyson around. And if you're worried about teasing, giving him a unisex name like Peyton Harper probably won't solve that problem.

Since you seem to like the unisex names, I pulled these off of Nymbler as possible alternatives:

    Avery

    Parker

    Riley

    Austin

    Hayden

    Hadley

    Jordan

Of these, I think Parker is nice for a boy.

  • FWIW if another child wants to make fun of yours they'll find a way to do it. Purposely not naming your child a name that MAY lead to teasing won't keep your kid from it. And think positive, Greyson could be smart, a football star, music major...it almost seems like people expect their kid to be teased...

I think all names could potentially create some type of teasing if that's truly the goal.

Agreed.  All of the children I know named Peyton/Payton are girls and the same with Harper.

  • I would definitely pick Greyson over Peyton.
