Gas or ??

Tonight is the third time I've had pretty bad pains on my left side. Once the pain was up high, the other two times it was lower by my hip bone. It's a semi throb pain and the first two times I dismissed it as gas. Tonight it hurt the most and it made me nervous. Just wondering if any other mamas have experienced this... I'm 17 weeks...

    If you're worried you could call the L+D department at your local hospital, or your midwife. I have a friend that's a midwife and I call her over the smallest things freaking out and she usually ends up calming me or telling me that if I'm really worried, to go get it checked out. But around 17 weeks I started having pains like that, and found myself in the ER getting told I was just having round ligament pain, but god it hurt. Still, it helped put my mind at ease and not freak out at every other strange pain.  Right now I'm 19 weeks and have the same problem still, along with god awful gas and heartburn.

    If you're constipated (I know, gross), it could also be that.

    Thanks. I thought about the constipation and my nurse told me that some pain can be from spasms from not going regularly. I just don't want to write it off as something not serious when it possibly could be. So far lying down has made it better, but I will definitely call if it happens again. Rather safe than sorry :) Thanks for responding-makes me feel tons better knowing others have gone through similar things.

    No problem! I worry constantly about every little thing, so I know it's always nice to know that someone else had a similar problem! GL!

    i have some pains through the day but the majority of my pains are at all. and THEY HURT!!! i wake up moaning in pain! i assume they are gas pains, since i can't go #2 :( and/or growing pains from baby. i'm not alarmed, but will definitely ask my dr about them when i see him Wednesday.

    hope you find relief... gosh, they do hurt so bad :(
