Tingly/Restlessness

Does anyone else start to feel tingly/restless before bed? It makes me really uncomfortable and sometimes makes it hard to go to sleep. I feel like I have to go to bed early just to avoid it, and if I am up when it starts, I have to take some Tylenol FAST and go to bed immediately! It also puts me in a don't-touch-me-mood which itself is wonderful.

Re: Tingly/Restlessness

  • I do... and it stinks.  I can tell when it's about time for bed because I get the tingly restless legs.  It is sooooo annoying.  Does the Tylenol actually help?

  • that's very common from what i've heard and it sucks. not only do my legs get restless and tingly but my feet get really really hot and itchy esp on the bottoms. i wrap ice packs around them and have him rub lotion on the bottoms and try and masssage them for a few mins. sucks!

  • Sometimes the tylenol helps a little bit, sometimes I take it and go straight to bed before it even has time to kick it. Last night I took it and woke up with 1 tingly leg and couldn't get back to sleep, lol.

  • I was just complaining about this to my husband last night! it was more my feet than my legs, I begged him to rub my feet and when he did he was like BARELY using any pressure! I almost threw a chair at him because I was anticipating the relief and he was almost tickling my feet instead of rubbing them! I went and laid down in bed with no blankets and it was really cool in there because i had the window wide open and the fan on, the coolness helped and laying down did too.

  • I have it nearly every night and it is one of the worst pregnancy "side effects" I've had... It will keep me up for hours or wake me up and then I can't go back to sleep  =(  I didn't think about Tylenol and will definately give it a try tonight!!!

  • I have been told to take extra iron, but I haven't done that because I'm already anemic and taking extra iron.  I have increased my calcium and potassium and that has really helped!

Also, if you can get H to give you a leg rub before bed that helps. Wink

  • I have been having this for a few weeks, and sometimes tylenol would help, but sometimes not enough.  I finally asked my Dr. this past appt. and he said I needed more Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium, so to find a Calcium + Magnesium supplement pill and eat bananas.  I've only been doing this for a couple days, but last night I slept a lot better and my legs weren't so restless, so maybe it is helping!!
