Feedback on Neighborhood Parents Network?

Hi all,

I just found out about the the Neighborhood Parents Network in Chicago (https://npnparents.org). I'm wondering if anyone is a member and if so, what events or groups did you find most useful for a mom-to-be or new mom?

    I've been a member since I found out I was expecting. Honestly the message boards and the word of mouth recs for nannies and daycare facilities have been the most helpful.

    Seriously, the cost is worth it for the message boards alone. I did go to one of the new mom's groups. It was kind of a bust, but I think it was really bad timing -we started the week of the giant snow.  I have tried one of the working mom's lunches and need to try again.

    I've heard good things about it but haven't been to an event yet.  I'm going to one in a couple of weeks though so hopefully it'll be worth it.  I still need to check out the message boards.

    I also find the message boards to be really helpful. We found our day-care provider that way, who has worked out wonderfully. I also found a playgroup this way and have been to a few other events. Totally worth the membership fee.
