I need your best party planning blogs/sites. I'm planning a surprise college graduation BBQ for DH in August and I need ideas. I want to do it up big for him (I'm over the top proud f him)! Any ideas you have are welcomed too. I know we have some creative and crafty ladies around these parts.

Re: NBR: Party Planning Blogs
So many party planning blogs are children centered. I have found adult centered parties on www.catchmyparty.com and have been having TONS of luck on www.pinterest.com. Are you planning to do a theme? Colors? Anything specific, like a mascot, you want to incorporate?
I know that I am already planning my husbands party for his 35th (not graduation I know)...2 years from now...and it will be a Beer theme! I have found some great ideas on www.hostessblog.com.
Thanks ladies!
Melody - I'm quickly discovering man of the blogs are child related.
I've been looking on Pinterest a bit without much luck. A lot of what I've found seems to be geared toward high school grads (which makes sense). DH is graduating with a Computer Information Services degree so I thought some decor with computers might be funny. I have plenty of time but I'm thinking I'm going to struggle with settling on a theme.
I know I'm kind of a nerd.
I'm trying to plan ahead some because our July is packed and I'm worried about running out of time. Not to mention I think I may have a hard time settling on a theme/ideas.

I would do a really old school computer theme. Like 80s era, Commodore 64 and floppy disks. For a backdrop for the food/dessert table, a giant Pong game made out of paper would be most righteous.
I like these ideas. You can get classic video game decals from Blik online.
I don't know how you feel about games, but you could do some trivia from famous geeky movies/shows with computers and robots: 2001 Space Odyssey, Star Trek, Tron, Night Rider, Lawnmower man (shudder), Terminator, Hackers, Futurama...
