Do you live in cedar park?

Do you like it? Anything you don't like? We went house hunting today and as much as I'd prefer to be as close to central Austin as possible, our money just goes so much farther 10 minutes further out. We really love a house we found in Cedar Park. The people I know that live there love it, but would love other opinions as well!

Re: Do you live in cedar park?

  • I don't really know much about other parts of Austin, but I have been living in Cedar Park for just over a year and half. I love living out here. I feel like you don't have to travel to far to get to most everything and that is a huge plus with the price of gas.

  • My address is *technically* Austin, but I live right on the border. We like it. I like that we're so close to Brushy Creek Park and that we have easy access to 183.

Now, of course, I would love to be closer in- but I much prefer being a SAHM and living in Cedar Park than needing to find a job to be able to live in Austin proper.

  • We're kind of the opposite of MC. Technically we're in CP, but we're in Travis Co on the border of Austin. If you didn't know my mailing address you would think we live in Austin.

I love it, though. I take the back way (2222) to get into Central Austin and downtown, and it's pretty dang quick even in rush hour. It's convenient to all the north suburbs (Leander, RR, Pflugerville, Lakeway, Jonestown, Lago Vista), although it's a pain to get to S Austin. If you take 620 around Lake Travis you can skip most of the traffic though.

  • I live in the same area as MC, and we like it out here.  It isn't that far into downtown or central Austin for that matter.  We are close to lots of things.  It's close to 183.  My husband works down in Oakhill and it takes him about 45 minutes in morning rush hour.

  • Like many of the ladies here, I live near the border of Travis/Williamson Co. & Austin/Cedar Park.  I love living in CP, which has been 8 years and going.  I fell in love w/ CP when I would take my now DH to soccer games at Elizabeth Milburn Park.  I have a Cedar Park address, but we are not incorporated into the city yet.  I can tell you that CP has done a great job in controlling the growth and zoning in the area.  In addition, CP is part of Leander ISD, which is a great school system.  Unfortunately, Austin ISD from what I heard is not so.  There are some great schools, but it depends on where you live, so be aware of that.  I'm not sure which part of Cedar Park you are looking at, but where I live on the Williamson Co. side, I love being close to Austin but not having to pay the higher taxes/standard of living that comes w/ living in Austin.
