Re: Clicky Poll: Baby age gap?

  • My boys are 27 months apart and at the limit of a seperation I would want.  There is 8 years between my youngest boy and my DD.  We are planning the next one for late next summer so these two will be about the same difference

  • My boys are almost exactly 4 years apart.  I love the gap because I got to enjoy every minute of Brayden being a baby and now I can do the same with Conor.  It's also great that B is old enough to understand when I say "just a minute, I need to do this for your brother before I can do that for you".  I always thought I would want my kiddos to be close in age so that they could be each other's best friends, but now I'm so glad we waited.

We plan on TTC again when Lena is 2 1/2 or so. It took us 2 years to get pregnant with her, so it is kinda up in the air.

DH is 3 years younger than his sister and he hated it because he always felt like they were competing for everything. My sister and I are 5 years apart and we both love it.

  • Mine are 16 months apart and the first six weeks with 2U2 was hell.  It took time to teach DD how to be gentle with DS when he was a newborn, and DS was eating every 3-4 hrs and they both needed so much attention at the same time.  Now that he has a routine life is much better, and I can almost forget how terrible it was at firstWink.  DS is a great baby; he eats well and sleeps a good 8-10 hours overnite.  This is unheard of; my DD didn't do that until 12 months.  So I think it is true that the second is easier.

This. :) I have friends with small children say 2 years apart and I'm so glad I waited as well. DS is a huge help, and I get to devote as much attention as I need to LO. I know lots of siblings (including myself and my brothers as well as DH and his sister) That are 5 years apart and have a wonderful close relationships. Not to mention I was able to devote 5 years to my son only. I cherish those years. This worked for us :)
