E scared the crap out of me last night

So we were in bed and DH was asleep, E was asleep and I was reading a book. All of a sudden she just screamed. Really loud. Not "she started to cry." She full on screamed like she was scared of something. Like she was having a dream about something attacking her. It terrified me. She woke herself up from it and she was just looking around. She didn't cry or anything but she was very alert.

I was truly terrified. It was the worst sound I've ever heard come from her. I was crying and snuggling her. She was just smiling and cooing. I really wish I could know what she dreamed about.

Re: E scared the crap out of me last night

  • Em did that yesterday during her nap. It scared the daylights out of me. She never woke up from it though.

I also want to know what she was dreaming about. Its not like she has much outside experience to have nightmares :(

  • Charlotte's done that a couple times too.  I'm worried she's already getting night terrors or something.  DH had then as a child and I fear he's passed them on to her.

DS doesn't have nightmares (well he doesn't appear to have them anyway) but I do wonder what his dreams are like. He can only see like 8-10 inches away from him clearly, so what do his dreams consist of? My face? The dog sneaking a lick of his face?

OP, If he screamed like that I am sure it would scare the bejesus out of me too. I would think he was haunted like in that stupid movie which I still can't watch, Paranormal Activity 2. I get the hebejebes just thinking about it! I hope she doesn't do it again!

Haha, I wouldn't even watch that movie because it had to do with a babies room that was haunted!!  And I never thought of her having nightmares about my face or the dog lol.

I also have night terrors. They started though when I was about 15 so I hope she doesn't get them. I don't remember some of them, but my mom was always scared sh**less whenever I would wake up screaming!! I learned in my psychology course that many children have them and eventually grow out of it. A select few adults have them.

  • yeah don't watch Paranormal Activity 2. We watched before Eliza came along. I would cry uncontrollably now. I'm glad in a way that its somewhat normal. I was crying and just so scared for her. I knew nothing could hurt her but it was truly a scary sound in an otherwise silent house. Shudder.

    this!!!!!!

i LOVE scarey movies but refused to see this movie when I was pregnant.
Both DH and I have had dreams of a spirit being close to K. Neither of us think the house is haunted, still it's strange that we both had the same dream.

Agreed. Do Not Watch that movie.  Seriously, I cried uncontrollably watching it while pregnant.  Outrageous!

Tottle does the little screams from time to time.  Those and the pitiful little squeals with the bottom lip poking out.  Oh my.  I can't imagine what he can be dreaming about, though.

  • I swear my house is haunted! lol. When I first moved in lots of freaky things happened. And of course it was in the back half of the house where the nursery is. I am crazy though lol :)
  • Avery did that to me today!! I actually thought I broke a bone on her body she screamed so hard!

I remember Addyson doing that once too, and I took off in a sprint to get her!

    Terrible!

  • DH says that babies dream of milk and boobies.... maybe the nightmare was about not having milk and boobies. haha.

Seriously though, I'm sorry that happened to you- I would probably be crying if Ben did that too.
