What are you doing?
I spent all day thinking about it and I think we are going to spend a day in the city. He got me a 2hr facial and massage (which I still need to go use) so I wanted to do something equally nice. We are going to go to Pier 39, the San Francisco Zoo, and then I got us tickets to the 49er game. I figure since we are about 2 hours away we might as well make the day of it. DH best friend's wife is doing the same thing so we can all go together.
Re: Father's Day
DH is supposed to have the day off (although he just learned that he is going to be transferred so that could change) and I haven't decided what to do. He had picked out this $200 effects petal for his guitar that he wanted me to buy him and I refused. I told him I wanted to pick out his gift and I wanted it to be special.
I have no ideas though!
For his gift, I made him a photobook on Shutterfly that is all pictures of him and DD.
In terms of what we're doing... not a whole lot. My parents will be in town so I'm sure we'll just go out to eat.
I think I'll get him a tool chest he wants. Bonus: all of his tools will get off the floor of our basement.
He has to work all day, but he works for a MLB team, so I think I'll take Auds to the game to see him.
My guess is that we'll be in The City too. We went to Dolores Park for Mother's Day because my sister (also her first mother's day) lives there. I'm assuming we'll all get together for Father's Day too. SIL in coming into town from out of state though, so we may end up with the in-laws.
P.S. I totally wanted to go to the zoo on Mother's Day and DH is still getting guilted for not taking me.
Ahhh....I love this holiday! Sounds so cheesy, but I do. Last year, we went to the beach with DH's family on Father's Day. We had found out I was KU the Tuesday before- they had no clue & we were too nervous to tell anyone. Memories!
This year, we're visiting my parents for the weekend. They're about four hours from us, so we'll leave Friday afternoon and come home Sunday afternoon. I just asked DH whether he wanted to wait to get his gifts until we got home or if he wanted me to bring them and he said to just bring em along, so we'll celebrate there. I got him one of those FlattenMe books and I took a bunch of pictures of DS and had em framed for his office. He also talks and talks and talks about the restaurant Friendly's (makes me wanna gag)- he loves it for some reason I cannot seem to comprehend. I think I'm going to surprise him with a trip there at some point (probably the following weekend)...he'll be thrilled, I just know it.
OH and sort of hilarious yet cruel- I was so consumed with it being DH's first Father's Day that I totally almost forgot about my own dad....whoops.
