Ok, so I was just at a store, and they have carts with bags on them, and kid seats in the front. Anyway, we got to the store, put Aditya in the front, and was going to put my diaper bag in the shopping bag. I noticed a camera thing in there. I turned it over to a store employee. Later, as I was telling a friend, she said I should have kept it. Just out of curiosity, not judging anyone, what would you have done? Part of me wishes I would have kept it, because it was a really nice one, but then I know when I've lost stuff, I've been REALLY grateful when some honest person turned it in....

Re: A moral question...NTR
Yeah I wouldve turned it in too. It's different if you're in a parking lot or on the street or something, but in a store, someone might come back to get it.

I turn in everything! I have lost stuff and been so thankful that a good soul turned it in! Can you imagine if your baby's first pictures were on that camera??!!
Just remember...Karma knows all!
This.
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
I turn everything in....I once found a watch in the shopping cart at the grocery store and turned it in to Customer Service.
My mom left her purse in a shopping cart in the parking lot of Costco....she didn't realize it until she got home. She went back and someone turned it in to Customer Service....with EVERYTHING still in it...she was very grateful of course.
I have had people at Dunkin Donuts give me change for a $20 bill if I paid with a $5 bill and I tell them of the mistake and they are very grateful.
I think being honest is best.
I'd turn it in. and I've been wondering, how do you pronounce your DS's name?
I'm not usually one to get on my high horse about things, but I agree with this. I cannot imagine any of my friends thinking that it would be okay to keep something like this. This is a level of dishonesty far beyond little white lies or sneaking a soda into a movie theater. The fact that she was so comfortable with the idea of keeping something that wasn't hers would make me question what else she is comfortable with.
I found a SWEETTTTT smartphone (motorola or android or something, lol) and I turned it in at Walmart.
DH was like whatt you should have kept it. The thought of keeping it, had never even crossed my mind.
It was, oh..
lost phone, must take to customer service, lol.
SINCE THEN. I left my purse in ER triage at VCU, my phone in the Target dressing room & Walmart bathroom & my wallet at dh's urologist. ALL of them were turned in & I was so grateful.
I'd like to think i'm still living off good luck from that $600 phone lol.
You probably made someone's day/week/month with that good deed.
I would have turned it in. I left a wallet in the grocery store cart one time. Called the store - nothing. Went back to look for it - nothing. Went and put all my cards on hold (a cute trick considering I hadn't used half of them in YEARS and needed to go through all kinds of hoops to get in in the first place).
The next day, I got a phone call from someone who found it. They had found it on the side of the road so some kids must have grabbed it looking for money and then pitched it out after going through it. I had no cash, so nothing was taken except my pocket change.
