Hey ladies, I need your advice on a couple of things.
One, DS loves the idea of using scissors. He sees us using them all the time. Do you think he's too young (he's 2) to have child safety scissors? If not, do you know where I can buy them?
Secondly, he loves pulling his plastic, wobbly chair around to try and reach things such as the light switch. Do any of you have any suggestions as to where I can find a sturdy kid sized chair?
Thanks!
Re: A couple of things....
I would suggest a plastic stool rather than a chair for him to stand on. We have a Dora stool that I got at Dollar General for $5. I would probably find one studier as it isn't the most durable but she loves it for things like you mentioned (Target or Walmart has stronger ones for like $10).
Jocelyn likes scissors too, I was hesitant to get her some, so we've been using some plastic scrapbooking ones that I have, she still doesn't really know how to use them though. I think you could get child proof ones just about anywhere like Micheal's, Wal-Mart, etc.
#1 I am not sure. I think as long as you are supervising, and I know you would be, that it should be fine. I think I have seen them at Target but I bet Micheals would definitely have them.
#2 if you happen to be at Ikea one day, check them out. We actually just bought this adult stool and he is in love. He pushes that thing all over the kitchen to help cook or to wash his hands. He seriously loves it.
We have these scissors, they have a little spring in them so when DS snips it close, they spring back open. He likes them and I feel pretty safe with them. I have no clue where to buy them, locally my mom got them through a school supply company.
We have 2 plastic stools that he uses for reaching things. One is a sturdy solid plastic Little Tikes stool (that I scored at the Kids Exchange for $2!) , the other a basic cheapo plastic stool. Both seem secure enough and he loves them. I like having 2 because we use them so often.
