I have been feeling weak on and off for the past couple of weeks. This morning I woke up and was very weak and kind of light headed. I even had to sit on the floor to do my make up b/c I did not want to stand up. I thought it was just b/c I needed to eat something.
So I had my usual bowl of cereal and took my prenatal. Still felt strange. So after laying down for about 15 minutes, I sat up and decdied to text my boss and let her know I'd be in late. Right after I texted her, I felt like I was going to throw up. And I did. So I laid back down for about an hour.
I was able to get up and get ready for work and ate an egg burrito. So here I am at work. But I still feel weak and light headed....just not normal. I know I don't have a bug...this is different. Definitely feels pregnancy-related.
I'm trying to figure out if it's just a normal part of pregnancy or if I need to call my midwife. Thoughts?
Re: Feeling weak....any ideas on what this might be?
For months I have been fighting weakness in the morning. I have a jar of peanut butter on my bedside table, and I have a spoonful before I get out of bed. I have found that this helps jump-start my energy after sleep-time fasting.
The difference with you is that, even after you eat something, you still feel weak. I'd call your midwife to be sure.
Good luck. I hope you feel better!
Ditto. This is my 3rd low iron pregnancy and this is what it sounds like to me to. Call your OB!
This. My last pregnancy I was super low on iron and this is about what I felt. I hope you feel better soon.
I had this weak feeling too and also told my doctor- "totally normal"
... when pregnant, your blood sugar, blood pressure, and heartbeat all changes, these normally cause such feelings. I sit on the floor to do my hair and makeup everyday, I even have a bench in the shower! ... Make sure when getting out of bed you don't jump up, take your time and take a few deep breaths. I normally try to wake up about 15-20 mins earlier so that I get up once, normally go the the bathroom, and then come back to bed and lay down for a few more minutes. Weekends are great when alarm clocks dont matter!
