Send him out in town ans pay out of pocket!
Not only will he be seen sooner (like, in one week instead of 2-3 months), but they'll probably numb him up first before they make the first incision. And, they *might* be able to find the 2nd vas. And, they might care enough to actually call in your Rx for tylenol and antibacterial ointment after the op so you don't have to have your wife run out for some.
So, recap: Balboa, not good. Out in town: worth the money.
Re: San Diego moms: If your DH wants a vasectomy...
I am sorry for the problems. I have to hide this from my DH. I will never get him to get one.
MH would never agree to one even if we were done having kids.
BUT Balboa sucks. My doctor (I see a civilian) requested MH get some blood work done because I have a genetic blood disorder that can be fatal to my babies if he has it too. Balboa told us yesterday that it's going to take 2-3 weeks for his results (so a total of about a month??? wtf?).
Wow. I know that the husbands really can't "complain" persay, but I would definitely fill out the ICE comment card through the hospital so that the higher-ups realize what happened and can do something about it!! I'm hoping he was the exception and your DH wasn't the norm, but no matter what, that isn't acceptable.
Always remember, even at an MTF, we DO have a voice and we CAN make things get changed...
BTIP, yeah- the ER blows. I went once with a miscarriage (an early one, 5.5wks) and they came into my room with a clipboard saying the blood tests came back negative for pregnancy. I told them they never took my blood, and he asked, 'Are you sure?' I showed him my arms, with no stickmarks, and he asked, 'Not even a finger prick?' WTH!! Like a finger prick test could determine if I was pregnant or not!! I sharply told him no, and he was like, Oh well, you're not pregnant so you can go now.
*I'd had a BFP the week before, I was pregnant. I just hadn't been to the hospital yet because they make you wait 14 weeks before you're seen by a doctor, and until you're seen by them you aren't considered pregnant to the military. Lame, huh?
That's ridiculous and part of the reason I'm seeing a civilian. No sympathy! I can't believe he just said you can go now... wth. I'm sorry for your loss
