  • I answered between $100-150 because that's the retail price of what we got him, but we used Amex points so actually only spent $12. We got him this:

  • I said between $100-$150 but honestly I don't know because I buy things from the day after Christmas forward adn just put them up in the closet.  No telling what she'll get but so far she has some Melissa & Doug play ice cream, several fun books (pop-up, open the flap, etc), and play food from Etsy on order.  My parents bought her a kitchen so I know that there will be more play food to be bought and I'm powerless in the face of cute play foods...

  • At 2 I'm still of the mindframe that he will get plenty of toys from other people and wont know the difference if we dont get him anything (or anything big) plus he couldnt possibly need anything else.  I didnt pick that option though because we did get him a tricycle at a consignment shop for like $12.

That said, if there was something big that we wanted for him like a table and chairs or toy box or something like that, I wouldnt have not gotten it because of the price.  It was more that we dont need anymore junk so I dont buy him toys just to spend a certain amount of money.

  • We got her YGG live tickets.  They were more expensive than I consider reasonable for a family entertainment day, so we made it her gift.  She certainly didn't "ask" for them, and they were like $200 for all 3 of us, plus parking.  On her actual B-day we bought her a stick horse (which with a coupon was $12).

  • I answered $100-$150, but I don't remember for sure. I do honestly think we spent too much that year. He got so much from friends and family and didn't need the stuff we got him, really.

This year we scaled way back, but he got even more from friends (big party). Overall, IMO, he got too much stuff. A lot of what I gave him was useful, rather than toys because that's what everyone else buys. This year (age 3), I got him a bathrobe, some $1 Cars and Thomas plates, cups, bowls, and puzzles from Target, a playdoh set (it was actually a purchase for another kid's bday that we decided not to use because he liked it so much), a Cars t-shirt and Cars socks, and a water/sand toy. Altogether this year that was about $50.

  • I said $50-$100. We got him a kiddizoom camera for $50 and a stick horse for $10 so we spent $60. He got plenty from friends and family.
