Someone over there posted that they are in a wedding, 5 hours away 2 weeks after their due date! Personally I think this is crazy. I wouldn't have even considered it. We had our immediate family over for a few hours on Christmas when ds was a bit over two weeks and I was EXHAUSTED! She's getting upset at people telling her this. What's your take?

Re: "interesting" post on 3rd Tri.
There's no way. My best friend got engaged on my birthday last summer, and chose my due date as her wedding date. She knew I was pregnant, knew that was my due date but didn't really care. THEN asked my fiance to be an usher in the wedding. Luckily, I went into labor the wednesday before so we didn't have to waste money on a tux.
Biitch be crazy! I think she is completely naive if she thinks she can participate in a wedding with a freshly hatched bambino on the boob.
I maybe could have done it at 4 weeks, but 2? uh uh. no way. not happening. no bueno.
Baahahhahaa that's awesome. Also your spanglish makes me giggle.

No effing way. My LO was a week late. Add to that 2 nights in the hospital. So that would have put me at 5 days after being discharged having to be in an OOT wedding?
Hellz the eff no.

I had a c-section so I wouldn't have even be released to drive until the day of the wedding. NO way would I have been a bridesmaid. I would have been lucky to even go to the wedding.
I could have done it, if all I had to do was show up and look decent. If I had to do much more than that I would have had a hard time. I would have agreed to it if the friend was willing to be flexible and understanding.
The big problem is that you have NO idea beforehand how you will feel 2 weeks after your due date. You could be still pregnant or you could have a 4+ week old baby or you could have a baby still in the NICU. You could feel back to normal and fit in your pre-preg clothes or you could be leaking/bleeding from multiple places and miserable. You just never know.
I think a big part of her situation is that it's 5 hours away...which with a newborn is probably more like a 7-8 hour trip to account for nursing. I know when DS was 2 weeks old driving the 10 minutes to the Pedi's office was nerve-wracking enough!
I personally think it is crazy. I didn't read the OP, so I don't know how far along she is, but she could go early and baby could be in NICU, she could go late....
I had my 2nd LO at 41w1d by emergency c-section and didn't get out of the hospiatl until 2 days later... if she is planning a trip 2 weeks after her due date, that would have been 4 days after I was d/c. I couldn't even sleep in my own bed at that point because I was too sore to climb up there with DS in my arms.
Call it premonition or whatever... DS came 6 weeks early and I was soooo sick. It killed me not being there but I was at peace that it didn't cause drama.
