I remember seeing a few years ago a website that shows the overhead of each nonprofit in the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign). I think it was so you can make educated decisions about who to donate to, and how much of the donation goes to the cause versus admin stuff.
Does anyone know what website it might have been?
Re: Website with nonprofit overhead numbers?
You can check ratings, expenses, etc. on Guidestar.org or charitynavigator.org and look up the charity and find lots of information that can be useful in deciding whether or not to give to a charity.
Also, the Better Business Bureau has reports as well here: https://www.bbb.org/us/charity/
Hope this helps!

Charity Navigator is a good source of information too! After working for two non-profits that are highly rated (but I would NEVER give a dime too), I don't always think the best judge is the admin expenses vs expenses spent on services.Donate to things you believe in!
Here is a link to the 2010 charities list. After each charity they list the AFR which represents the percentage of dollars spent on administering the charity. Hope this helps.
