Moving to Raleigh-Durham Area, need recommendations please!!

Hello Moms,

 

We are moving to NC next month and I am hoping you all can help me select the following through your recommendations:

1. family doctor

2. pediatrician

3. vet

4. dentist (also a pediatric one)

This is the main stuff I could think about. I truly appreciate your help and hope to meet you when we get settled!

    Where in the Raleigh Durham area are you moving?  It's a pretty big area, it would help us give you better recommendations! :)  Welcome!

    Sorry about that! We are living in Durham for one year and then may spread out in the area if we see somewhere else we want to live. My husband will be attending  Duke for a one year program.

    Hmm...honestly i would probably move and then select ones in your area. PP is right, it's a big area and i wouldn't drive across town despite a great dr, etc close-by.
    Although Durham ladies may have some recs for you.

    1. family doctor - I go to Capital Family Physicians and I see Dr. Bommareddi.  

    2. pediatrician - I went to as a child and will be taking my very-soon-to-be-born child to Carolina Kids Pediatrics.

    3. vet - I've used Fisher Veterinary for the last 10 years

    4. dentist - Can't make a recommendation since my uncle is my dentist so I drive about 45min away.

    I grew up in Durham (moved to Raleigh in '05). Since you'll be in Durham the first year, my Durham recs are:

    1. Family Doctor: I liked Triangle Family Practice when I lived in Durham. Go to Duke Family Medicine at Brier Creek now and love them! (which is also convenient to Durham). Have heard good things about Durham Internal Medicine too.

    2. Peds-Durham Peds hands down! I've actually thought about going to them even though we live in Raleigh.

    3. Vet-Love Cornwallis Road Animal Hospital. We still use them despite the distance. Vets are great and they have "Creature Comforts Inn" adajenct to them for kennel or grooming. 

    4. Dentist-we use Stephanie Jenkins on Hwy 54 near Southpoint. Still use her too despite the distance. All her staff are great. Our peds dentist is in Raleigh. I always heard great things about Dr John Christensen growing up. Several friends in school (including hubby) went to him and liked him.
