As some of you know I am a contractor. My actual "boss" is about 1,000 miles away. I haven't been trying to keep it a secret but I keep forgetting to tell them until it is some sort of inopportune time like while I am driving home, the middle of dinner or as I am falling alseep for the night.
So anyway, my really awesome "here boss" told them for me. They are really pissed I hadn't told them. Oops and WTF? How much notice do I have to give?
Re: Maybe I should have told work I am pregnant
I agree, WTF and technically I don't think you HAVE to tell them.
Me too. I have a feeling I am going to end up getting fired, which may be a blessing in disguise.
That's awful on what grounds would they have to fire you?

I have no friggin idea. Without rehashing all of my work shiit I will just say that I don't suspect that it matters though. Luckily, I have a binder full of documentation.

I would research this. DH put in a week of FMLA for the birth of our daughter. Work declined it saying they needed a 30 notice. He was able to take the time off anyway since his mother was dying and FMLA covers that.
I just looked it up.

They do require a 30 day notice for foreseeable reasons.
