I met with two of my friends today who have Lo's close in age to G. One of them is 9 months old and the other is a month older than G. They are both gigantic. The 7 month old is 30 inches tall and around 20 lbs. The nine month old is even taller (I'd estimate 33 inches) and 21 lbs. G is around 16 lbs and 26 inches. Which is 50th for height and 10-25th for weight. He's a bit of a peanut. I tend to think in part they're so much bigger because they were both born at 40 weeks or more where G was born at 37 so really they're several more weeks older. Anyway, they're always comparing their gigantic babies to my little peanut. Makes me sad.

Re: Little baby
Don't be sad. He's healthy and happy and he'll be a big kid before you know it.
Charlie is a peanut too. It just means he is still tiny enough to fit on my chest when we snuggle on the couch without him kicking me in the crotch. lol

LOL! It's true.
Also, G still looks like a baby whereas both of their LOs look more like toddlers. I guess it lets me enjoy babyhood a little longer.
Yeah, they are HUGE! Nora is perfect so I guess that must mean G isn't doing too bad.
I don't know. I am probably just sensitive about this for some reason. I'm always worried that he's not getting enough from me and maybe that's why he isn't bigger. It's silly, I know.
It's just one of those things where every baby is different.
Jonny was born at 37 weeks and he was 7lbs, 13oz and 20 inches. I'm happy I didn't get to 40 weeks otherwise he would have been well over 9lbs!
And he's just continued on that same growth pattern. At his 2, 4, and 6 month appts he's always been in the 50-ish percentile for weight and 90ish percentiles for height.
He was 17lbs, 9oz at his 6 month appt. My mom said I was 18lbs at 1 year! But then again I was 9lbs, 1oz when I was born. A huge chunker at birth, but only doubled my birth weight by the first year.
I know it's hard to not compare babies, but I think we would all be a little less stressed if we just accepted the fact that as long as everyone's babies are healthy and happy we should all be happy too - no matter what size they are.
G is bigger than my DD! You know, I kind of like her being small. Pedi says she's healthy in every way, and she's consistently growing, so I just enjoy her being tiny while I can.
Other people, though, are always talking about how small she is as if it's a bad thing. Yes, stranger at the grocery, I do feed her. Often. No, FIL, she is not hungry just because she's chewing on your finger.
Enjoy your little peanut. He's perfect!
Aw, I love my little 20th percentile baby (in both height and weight!) He's easier to carry and has a teeny face.
Why compare? As long as your baby is consistently growing, he's cool!
G sounds perfect. Isaac is my 5th child and by far my biggest baby. He is 16-1/2 pounds and 27 inches which seems huge to me but is not huge by other people's standards. I'm amazed when I hear babies hitting 20 pounds before they are a year old. I've only had one kid even get to 20 pounds by the time they were 12 months old. My 2-1/2 yo only weighs 25 pounds and my 4yo weighs 32 pounds!
Be glad that G is not quite so big - at least he's easier to carry around!
