Hi ladies, my sister wants me to put a list of ppl together for my baby shower and was curious if I should invite my family that is out of state. I don't want them to feel left out just because they don't live in PA but I'm 99% sure they won't come due to the distance. My in-law side (aunts) will be invited cause they live close. Would I be lying if I said I didn't want a gift???...yes, but that really isn't the main reason. Just like my cousin just sent me a graduation announcement for her son, we usually send a check as a congrats gift in our family. What would you honestly do??
P.S. they were all invited to my bridal shower as well....and yes this is my first child, I would never for a second child.
TIA!
Re: Invite out of state fam to shower??
Yes for two reasons, 1. bc they will want to be included and 2. bc they will buy a gift!
And that is just fun!

I agree with everyone here. I'm in a similar situation in that I live fairly far away from my family (about a 4-5 hour drive) but my situation is complicated by the fact that I'm not really very close with my family. I invited them all to my wedding reception (we had a destination wedding) and none came (or sent anything, not even a card) but I still feel like I should include them by inviting them to the baby shower even though I'm 99% sure they won't come (or send anything).
It makes me feel like at least I'm making an effort. Even if they don't.
Thank you everyone for your opinions! I will go ahead and invite them
.....Now how about cousin-in-laws?? Hehe I have more female cousin-in-laws out of state that actual female cousins. Should I invite them as well or just keep it to my aunts and cousins? I'm a pain, I know...just don't want to look like an idot! Thanks again!
