Mmr blood work showing im not immune?...

Hey everyone,

So I had my blood drawn twice at the infertility doctor and it came back that im not immune to mmr even though i have been vacinated when I was younger. Anyone else have this happen? She told me I should get re vacinated but it would put even a more longer hold on ttc, What should I do? My mom said wait it out since its so rare, but I'm concerned......

    It's not uncommon to have lost the antibodies.  It's why they check.  For me, I needed to make sure I had them (I am immune).  I own a preschool.  Had I not had the antibodies I would have gotten the vaccine.

    If you aren't in a high risk job, etc then I might forgo it ... There has recently been a measles outbreak so I wouldn't say it's "rare."  It can also cause significant birth defects.

    Choice is ultimately yours.

    Hello and welcome to the board.  See the newbie link in my siggy.

    I would (and did) just get the shot.  I had the shot when I was little too, it doesn't last forever.  It will probably not be the first time your treatments are put on hold for some stupid reason!

    Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

    My test came back equivocal which just means questionable. I decided to get     re-vaccinated because I didn't want any more stress if I do get pregnant. I'd rather be safe than sorry. But its totally a personal choice. I was told if I didn't get re-vaccinated then I was would have to sign a waiver. I was told by the dr who gave me the vaccination to wait 3 months before getting pregnant but we planning to wait a few months to began treatment anyway hoping my DH's SA improves some. Good luck on whatever you decide.

    MFI = Low count + low T = Varicocele surgery 2007 + Clomid 2011
    FFI = Ovarian dysfunction + Abnormal shaped uterus 2011
    IUI#1 & 2= bfn
    Lap + Hysterscopy = all clear
    Last IUI 6/30/12... Femara + Follistim + Pregnyl + Progestrone supp. = BFP
    Beta #1= 58.8 Beta #2 = 1,489.6 Beta #3 = 13,112.3 Beta #4 = 62,727.7 ... No more betas
    2nd u/s = baby & heartbeat @ 6 wks 3 ds
    It's a girl!

    I had booster shots for most things done when I was in my early 20s, although I just recently got the TDAP booster because I wanted to make sure I was immunte to pertussis before having a baby.  I would get the booster done before you get pg. 

    There was a mumps outbreak in our area last year.  These diseases are actually starting to make a comeback because of all of those people who wouldn't vaccinate their kids thanks to the doctor with the falsified data claiming vaccines were linked to autism.  I'm so glad that guy has finally been discredited and lost his medical license.  He did so much harm, it's unbelievable.

    thats exactly what she told me it was equivocal and she recommends i have it done again and wait 30 days afterwards before ttc.

    My RE said 30 days too but the dr that gave me the vaccination said 3 months. I verified it with my RE again. It really didn't matter with us because we were planning to wait a few months to start treatment anyway. Hopefully next month... we meet with the RE again on the 27th so we'll know more then. Good luck with your journey.
