Twinges ( on ipad I hate this thing!)

Hi Ladies,
I havebmy 12 week appointment tomorrow and my NT scan next Tuesday. I am starting to get really nervous for both. Also on my left aide down by my uterus I have bee. Getting this odd left twinge. Do you think I should be worried? Also I am nervous they are not going to look for the hb - we saw at 7 weeks but would really like confirmation. Do you think I should insist, what would you say?

Thamks!

  • I get twinges every week on one side or the other. It's round ligament pain or "growing pains". It just means your baby is growing :) Unless it is so severe you cant hardly walk, I really wouldnt think anything of it.

I seriously get these pains every week around the time of me weekly "graduation" like clockwork. The first time I had it I was slightly worried, but then as it became more consistent and I read up on what RPL felt like, the more I realized it was just our LO growing!

As far so the HB goes, my doctor dopplers me at every appointment now, as do most doctors I know of if they dont do an u/s. If it is worrying you, just ask them to do it. Im sure they wont have a problem, it doesnt take long.

All in all, I think your just psyching yourself out. Take it easy and maybe consider getting your own home doppler. It really helped to ease my anxiety when I was able to find my LO's HB whenever I wanted to.

  • I get the twinges too once in a while. Like a sharp pain on one side. Like pp said, it is normal.

I would also think it is normal to have the dopplar for hb at every appt?  We've had it for our last two appts.

    Good luck tomorrow!

  • I get them at least once a week. SO normal. My doc even told me they may get worse as baby grows bigger but only be concerned if its so horrible I can't walk or move.

Also, my doc dopplers me everytime I go in for a check up. If they can't find the hb on the doppler then I get an u/s.

  • Twinges are very common, I freaked out at the beginning but now I'm just used to it! Nothing to worry about.

I hated my iPad too!! I sold mine on Ebay. I thought it could replace my laptop, but not even close.

I also get them about once per week, usually around my week change. This week the top of my hip bone on my left side was tender and I felt the pulling/stretching feeling that is common with round ligament pain.

It's totally normal to feel those 'twinges,' so try not to worry about it.

  • I have been getting these sometimes too, and agree with previous posters that they are more than likely RLP or stretching and growing! All good things!! I also recommend the home doppler because mine gives me so much piece of mind! I went to the OB yesterday for an appointment and they found the baby's heartbeat with a doppler! 160 bpm and sounded great!
