We're finally moving out of our teensy, crappy townhouse, which is good. But we need to pack, which is bad.
We have no idea where the best place is to get packing supplies. The last time I moved, I got boxes from a friend who had moved a month earlier. I have no such recently moved friend this time around and am at a loss for the best place to go. Truck rental place? Storage facility? Office supply store? Target?
Thanks!
Re: NTR- best place to get packing supplies?
Craig's list!
When we moved we searched "moving boxes" and once people get down moving they break down all their boxes and sell them relatively cheaply--some people even put them on the side of their house free for the taking.
Sometimes the boxes are in rough shape but most are great.
You can also find people who work from home that get a lot of shipments and therefore have relatively new boxes they break down and re-sell.
The most expensive items you can buy are bubble wrap and packing tape--instead of buying bubble wrap we went and collected the free local papers left over from the night/week before and used those to wrap valuables.
Tape is pretty much something you have to get and I don't recommend getting cheap brands. It rips and tears when you don't want it to and won't stick for crap!~
This! I've always gone this route. Good luck packing and congrats on the house!
