Mrs L - re: naked potty training.

Jax started going pee in the potty around 18 months.  He was basically completely pee trained by about 22 months ish.  I didn't want to push it b/c I knew he'd regress when Cooper came, so we just went about it casually.  We had naked mornings at home.  He peed in the potty and I'd say about 3 times he went poo poo on the potty, but normally he'd come and ask me for a byder (diaper).  Which I went along with until Thanksgiving. That's when we did the 3 day PT that slw sent us.  He did not want to poop in the potty at all then.  

But, based on our naked time experience, I knew he wouldn't just go poop until he had his diaper, so I finally just let him be naked one day/night until he cried and cried to get a diaper.  I tried to get him to the potty and he didn't want to go.  DH finally picked him up and put him on the potty before anything came out.  He pooped in the potty and hasn't looked back.  

So, he literally almost pooped on the floor while trying to hold it in.  It sounds mean, but it was about a 3 minute (if that) struggle - and worth every second.  He's had one poop accident since then and maybe 2 pee pee ones (not including aim problems) since we've completely cut out pull ups and are 100% underwear now (Since March I think)

    Thank you! I <3 you!!! He is actually sitting naked on the couch now b/c I know he has to go and he wants pants on so that he can go hide and poop. I taped a diaper to the toilet, under the seat and told him to poop in the diaper which he actually went for but was straining too hard so I told him to go watch a show and then we'd try again later. I gave him a lollipop for trying. The bonus was that my Toy story figures that I am putting on his b-day cake came today and he is BEGGING me to open them and I said not until he poops on the potty like a big boy. I hope this will work. He is desperate for me to open them. Thanks so much for the tips I hope he can turn the corner. Accidents are gross and I am over diapers.

    But seriously.  I hope you win your poop war soon.
