Prenatal Massage

Anyone know of a good place to get a prenatal massage?  Preferrably not too expensive and on the northern side of the cities...  I have 4 weddings to photograph during the rest of June and am thinking I should reward my body for making it through especially during the third trimester!  I had one when I was pregnant with my son and wasn't altogether impressed but maybe it was just the place... thoughts?

Re: Prenatal Massage

  • The only one I've ever had here at home was at the Ivy, and while it was amazing, I still felt like a pregnant cow at the end. I think that's the problem with prenatal massage... you're still pregnant when it's over. Stick out tongue

  • I'm getting one on Tuesday with Brandon at Serene Body Therapy in Roseville. It'll be my first prenatal with him, but I've had non-prenatal massages by him. I <3 him :)

  • I go to Massage Envy every month! It is affordable and they take direction very well. I've been really liking the arm, foot and leg rubs these days. I'm also in the third trimester :)

I go to the Edina location currently, but I've been to the Plymouth one and had great luck there during this pregnancy.

  • When I was pregnant with DS I had the best massage at Balance Life in Waconia, but that may be too far away for you. I also had one at Massage Envy in Eden Prairie and didn't like it nearly as much. I haven't had a massage yet this pregnancy, but I'd like one soon!
  • Emeigh @ spalon montage in woodbury.  best you'll ever have!  she's hard to get into though...for good reason!

    You Make me SMILE :)

  • Thanks for this thread - I am in desperate need of one!
  • The one that I had with my first son was at a Massage Envy and wasn't too impressed but the price was reasonable... maybe I'll have to try one of the people you all suggested I was wondering if they wouldn't do a deep massage because I was in my 3rd trimester
  • I highly recommend any of the ladies at Blooma (www.blooma.com)- many are doulas as well and all are trained in prenatal massage.  They even have massages you can schedule that are specifically labor inducing (after 38 weeks) and I have received bodywork from some of them and think they are extraordinary!  It really is a good idea to get bodywork done by someone who understands the needs and changes in a pregnant body :-)
