Sleepless Nights!?

I am 7 weeks pregnant now and experiencing some uncomfortable nights.  I don't mind the getting up to pee 2 or 3 times a night....but the not being able to get comfortable is what keeps me up all night.  Has anyone else experienced this?  and if so any recommendations?  I was going to buy one of those pregnancy pillows but didn't know if I wanted to spend 50.00 on a pillow.

Re: Sleepless Nights!?

  • This is me and I am miserable! I toss and turn ALL night long, everything seems to be comfortable, and just when I fall asleep I have to pee! :( I got the one of the preggie pillows last time, but the thing is HUGE and my DH hates it with a passion. It may need to come out ASAP though. Sorry DH! :)

  • Omg, I was seriously coming on here to post this very same thing! I don't get it... I'm only 7 weeks, so how can I be so uncomfortable? I don't even know exactly what it is that's uncomfortable.... all of the sudden, my super comfy temperpedic mattress seems so awkward. And I wake up feeling so hot. This morning, I woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back to sleep until 5am. And when I do sleep, I dream (and sleep talk apparently) all night long, so I don't even feel rested. I'm happy to know it's not just me, but I can only imagine how much worse it's going to get from here.

  • I will say that I had awful nights until about week 8. Then it stopped just like that. I've always been a bad sleeper, but not like those nights. I'd wake up to pee and couldn't go back to sleep to save my life. It seemed to get better on it's own though. Now I can't sleep because my sinuses are killing me, but that's a whole other ballpark!

  • Same here at 6 weeks... I have a horrible time sleeping when I am constantly thinking "Don't lay on your back, Don't lay on your belly, Don't lay on your back..." The fact is, I am normally a side sleeper but now that I "CAN'T sleep on my back or belly that is all I seem to want to do! LOL

IMO the $50 will be 100% worth it if it means you get to sleep at night!!!

Hope it stops being so uncomfortable soon! I have been feeling the same way through my whole pregnancy so far, and its just bizzarre because there's not really anything in particular making me uncomfortable, I just AM.

  • Ok good I thought it was just me.  I guess I will look into the pillow....anything that helps is worth it.  I totally agree though...it isn't anything in particular that is making me uncomfortable, it is weird.  Hopefully it will get a little better soon.....I work 13 hour days and it is kind of hard when you are tired to begin with before having the issue of no sleep! ( I guess just preparation for when the baby arrives LOL).
  • I'am still really early, but the past three nights have been horrible. I feel like I'am not even sleeping when I'am. Hubby told me I've started talking in my sleep too lol Not sure if I'am just nervous, but sleep feels almost nonexisitant to me ;(

  • This is so funny that so many other people are having the same problem!  I swear I haven't been sleeping well since I was at 4 weeks (I'm 8 wks now).  For the past month I wake up at 3am and toss and turn for 1 hour.  Even if I get up and watch tv or read, still up for 1 hour......and I also wake up completely sweating.  Sorry I don't have any suggestions to fix it, but definitely wanted to complain about it a little - ha!
  • me too!! glad to know there are others, but hate that you guys are having the same problem!

I feel like I can feel every spring in the bed, even through the expensive pillow-top. I want to get one of those preggo pillows, but don't know if I can adjust to such a large object. Does anyone have a good suggestion on which one to buy?
