About how many nights did it take to get past the crying? I am talking about the really upset please come hold me cry? Last night was horrible and I felt so bad and just wanted to snuggle with him (I didn't). Just wondering when it might start to get a little better??
Thanks ladies!!
Re: Those who have sleep trained....
I'd say 3.
But he still fusses to this day. I can tell the difference between his out of control hysterics and him just being pissed off about it being bedtime.
We had some hysterics the first night, and it gradually got better until it mostly went away. If he ever starts crying really hard, I just pick him up, I feel like he is sufficiently trained at this point. However if he is just fussing because he is exhausted, I make him go to sleep. And he always does within about 5 minutes.
The first night was terrible. He screamed and I cried like a little baby. However, I am so glad we did sleep train, because it really did work.
1, the first night DS cried for 55min (Friday night was our first night) otherwise he wakes & fusses & fall backs asleep within 5-10min. However @ 430am, 5am he wakes up and cries for his nuk, I let him for 10 - 15 min of hope he will fall asleep but he can't find it on his own at that time.
We are going to attempt to sleep train, but just havent done it yet. I was watching a video online and it says to put them in the crib awake. My daughter usually falls asleep on me at night drinking her bottle, then we go to bed a little later. Do you guys put your LO in the crib awake or asleep?
TIA
The first night was the only really bad night. It was just over an hour and it was horrible. The second night was 13 minutes. Third night maybe 3-5minutes. No crying nights 4 & 5. Tonight is night 6. She's also been waking up once around midnight and last night she put herself back to sleep all by herself after 9 minutes.
The night before we started she was up 5 times (as she had been for the past 3-4 weeks).
Last night was really tough. My husband and I were talking that we feel it is harder since in all honestly we have a really easy baby that hardly ever cries. I know it will get better and thanks for the reassurance ladies.
believe it or not it only took us one night.... it was a sad night for us (especially mommy!!) but the 2nd night our LO started sleeping 11 hours and has not looked back. It was the best decision that we ever made... I actually made a few posts on here about it and felt like I got attacked by a lot of moms who thought it was a horrible idea... well I can tell you that we are SO HAPPY that we did it- now our LO is a much happier baby because he gets so much sleep, and we are much happier parents! and I also now know that the bottle that I was giving him in the middle of the night was not really needed, it was more of a soothing thing.
I know every baby is different, I have heard of some taking a long time, and others were like ours and only took a day or two or three... and some babies it doesnt work at all. But it did work for us and we are so glad that we did it. I hope it works for you!!!! Good Luck,!!!!!!!

that is exactly what we do as well....... I mean every single night is not always perfect, so if he does start crying really hard, I pick him up, rock him for a few until he calms down and then put him back in the crib where he 9 out of 10 times falls asleep. Sometimes he does just fuss a little when he goes down because he is overly tired- and when he does that, I just wait it out and he falls asleep within a few minutes of fussing.
