What do you use when flying and staying somewhere that doesn't have a pack n play or crib? Are the inflatable pea pod things worth it? I'm just concerned that he wouldn't stay corralled in place without walls to his bed...
We have a Baby Bjorn travel crib which I HIGHLY recommend. It folds up in 1 minute (if that) into a case the size of a suitcase. It is much more comfortable than a pnp. It is a tad pricey but worth every penny imo. It is supposed to be good up to age 3 but I am sure we will not last that long, but I have a child that is as tall as many 3 year olds already. She uses it everyday for naps and we used it overnight about a month ago.
I got a pea pod as a shower gift (that I registered for) thinking it might be nice to use at the beach when she was very young, we've never used it. I just can't imagine her sleeping in it. It is cute, small and fun looking and maybe I will take it out now as she may get a kick out of it...but I still don't think she'd sleep in it. She would unzip it in a minute and get out and be all over the place.

We have the Peapod Plus and so far, so good. It's not Will's favorite place to sleep, but he tolerates it and it has worked well for us in situations where we weren't staying in a hotel. I'm hoping at some point he'll think it's cool to have his own little tent, otherwise, he'll just figure out how to unzip himself and get out.
Also, FWIW, one of my friends who went to Sonoma with us last month had the same Peapod as us with a daughter who was 2.5 years old and she LOVED her little tent. She was so sad when her mom packed it up! So cute!
If you end up going that route, I have a couple thoughts to share, but this is probably sufficient to answer your question.
Thanks girls!! I actually just got an email from my friend saying that she had a pack n play for some reason and that we could use that...phew!! I am going to look into these options though because we have a ton of trips planned this summer!
