It was great! Z Pizza uses Daiya as their vegan cheese. The meatless balls have soy protein so I didn't get that. I got the Tuscan. So exciting to find a place in my town (to clarify, Z Pizza is a national chain that I didn't know existed before tonight) to eat out safely.
Re: I just went out to PIZZA
This was after I called Round Table to inquire about their crust.
"Hey Carl, does the crust have any dairy in it?"
After I was told "no" I googled and came up with:
https://www.goeggless.com/2008/09/round-table-pizza.html which says "Just a reminder for vegans that the pizza dough has nonfat dry milk."
OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! there is a store coming to NYC!!!!!! are you kidding me!?
the pizza dough doesn't have soy/milk either!? I seriously will make weekly trips with my son!!!!!! i'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!
THank you for the share!!!
THANK YOU for this post! I checked the locations and there are several in the DC area. None super close to me but for this I will drive!

Nope! They have all of the ingredients posted online. Actually they had a vegan option menu that they gave us in the store. They even listed the ingredients of the daiya cheese (according to their website they recently switched to soy free vegan cheese) and the soy meatballs (obviously those have soy).
i cannot wait until they open the store. i'm going to be stalking their site daily.
We have one near us and DD has had it once. But, becareful our location takes no measures against cross contamination. Basically they cook your pizza right on top of where they cook the other pizzas and they are all next to each other in a big round oven and they use the same board/stick to remove the pizzas. Also, they carry a soy cheese that does contain dairy so you have to be sure that the person taking your order is clear on which cheese to use.
Uggg...this is the next thing I was going to tackle. Thanks for the heads up.

You are welcome. It is a bummer. These kind of offerings may meet certain lifestyle choices ,being Vegan etc., but do not take into account allergies. Now that DD seems to have outgrown her mild wheat sensitivity we do Trader Joe pizza dough with sauce and toppings and she loves it. DH makes one for him w/ cheese on a special pan and she and I share one w/out cheese on a special pan.
That is so awesome! I am gluten free dairy free & LOVE Daiya cheese!
