Update on A's crying sitch

So, last night I said screw it and rocked her to sleep.  I just couldn't stand another night of her crying off and on for 45 minutes.  She fought it and tried to wiggle so I just cradled her with her arms pinned and she was out in about 4 minutes.  I put her in her crib completely asleep and she never woke up.  It was easier on my heart, and, quite frankly, I enjoyed it.  I'm sure I'll be cursing myself in a week or two but I went with my gut on this one.

Nothing wrong with a little Vitamin M. :)   Don't worry. She'll more than likely go back to her good sleeping ways before long.  You did great!
  • Hooray for a good night's sleep for all!

  • I still do that with DD when she has sleeping issues from time to time.  Nothing wrong with snuggling babies when they need it!

  • I rock D every night. She's always awake / 1/2 awake when I place her in the crib, but it's just not something that I can give up - especially since weaning. I love it, she loves it, so it's a win-win, Ferber be d@mned.

I think he says its ok, but that you have to be careful that she doesn't get so attached to it that if she wakes in the night she can't go back to sleep without it.  We'll see if that happens with A.  It was really sweet.  I just got so used to putting her in the crib and walking out with no problems that I was afraid to do it.

This! I was fully planning on rocking B to sleep till she was 10 but she much rather put herself to sleep and it makes me so sad :(

  • My son loved being rocked to sleep. My dd wants to just be laid in bed when it is bed time. :-( I love rocking them to sleep. Sounds like it worked perfectly!

  • Last night, DD told me she didn't want to rock bc she's too big and "not get comfortable"... I may or may not have cried myself to sleep Crying

    Enjoy it while you can!

  • I still rock DD to sleep sometimes..but we have other sleep issues so I may not be the best role model. Wink
  • Sounds good to me!  I always rock M for a few minutes before I put him down and I love it.  I tried to skip it last night and he was like mom, WTF? and I had to get him back out of the crib and rock him for a few minutes.
  • I think if your gut tells you to cuddle her, do it. *hugs*

This!  I wish DS was still a snuggler but these days when DS is finished with his night bottle he automatically rolls over and falls asleep.  No snuggling, no burping.  Just snoring.  Hee hee.  I miss the snuggly days.  *sigh*
