Scary Night - Going In For U/S and Appt.

For the past few weeks I've occassionally had what felt like a tightening/pressure feeling in my abdomen and I wrote it off as either the baby moving around or just uterine stretching, etc.  Yesterday I had it probably half a dozen times and it started to freak me out. 

I went to bed but woke up around 11:30 and laid on my left side with my hands on my abdomen to see if I could feel the tightening.  It seemed to happen in various degrees (sometimes the whole abdomen would tighten, sometimes only the one side, sometimes I wasn't sure if was tightening or not) a few times an hour.  I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't have my hands on my abdomen b/c it wasn't painful or anything.

It freaked me out enough that I called the Dr. at 4am.  She asked all the standard questions about leaking fluid, bleeding, etc., and when I said no she said it could be nothing or something and I should come in for an u/s and appt.

I'm just waiting for the office to open to see when they can get me in.  I haven't really felt anything this morning...but I'm sitting up working and not laying down w/ hands on abdomen. 

Has anyone had anything like this happen?

TTC in 2008. Stage II/III endo, Hashimotos hypothyroid, low morph (3%).
2 cycles Clomid/Ovidrel/TI/Crinone=BFN.
IUI #1 - 4 Follistim/Ovidrel/IUI/Crinone = BFN.
IVF #1 - Antagonist w/ ICSI 4/10. 17 retrieved, 5DT of 2, BFN :(
IVF #2 - Long Lupron w/ ICSI 6/10. 15 retrieved, 3DT of 2, BFFN!!
Lap 7/21/10
IVF #3 - Clomid/Antagonist w/ ICSI 10/10. 14 retreived, 3DT of 3, BFP 10/20 but m/c. No HB 11/15/10 - D&C 11/17/10.
FET - 2 blasts, 1 survived the thaw. Transfer 2/19. Beta #1 3/1 375, Beta #2 3/3 885, Beta #3 3/8 4261, Beta #4 3/11 9005. U/S 3/8 1 sac 1 yolk, U/S 3/16 1 heartbeat 114bpm!

    Sounds like it could just be BH, but better safe than sorry. Hope its nothing serious!

    Like Lyse said, it could just be BH, but it is better to be sure and see your OB.  I hope everything is fine.

    I agree with Lyse.  It sounds like it could be BH.  Its good you called your doctor and hopefully you can get in to see her this morning just to put your mind at ease.  Keep us posted.

    I agree that it sounds like Braxton Hicks, but it is always good to get checked out. Sending you lots of well wishes!

    Sounds like the BH that I experience...  I find that when I focus on them, I notice them a lot more, and I always get more at night.

    Diagnosed PCOS 2/07, TTC #1 since 8/09
    11/10 - Clomid Round 1 = BFN
    12/10 - Clomid Round 2 = BFN
    1/11 - Voluntary Break = BFN (duh)
    2/11 - Clomid Round 3 = BFN
    3/11 - Femara + IUI = BFP * Beta#1=56 * Beta#2=266

    GL Patchen. Sounds like BH to me too.

    I have gotten that a few times the past couple of weeks, but haven't thought to call only bc my answers to all the standard questions would be no.

    I do have a routine appointment scheduled today, so hoping to get some answers.
