When did your LO start to have fun during tummy time? Anytime I put the boys on their bellies they scream like someone is trying to murder them! Leland at least tried to move around. Greyson just lays there and lets out an occasional scream. They aren't into toys yet. Is there anything I can do to make it less traumatizing?

Re: Tummy Time question!
When he could roll to his back!
Jacob used to scream bloody murder when we would put him on his tummy. We would try to prop him up with the boppy to make it a bit better.
Just try to keep doing it several times a day for as long as they will stand it. Try to distract them with toys. It will be tough in the beginning, but it will get better.
Jacob did eventually start to enjoy holding his head up (for a minute or so).
My dd HATED tummy time and would refuse to pick up her head (she has a big noggin) and so she'd just face plant and cry. I would try propping her up with the boppy pillow and I would put toys on the floor under the boppy but she'd just turn her head to the side and wimper. It was awful! She never enjoyed tummy time but I think her annoyance with being on her tummy is what helped her learn how to roll onto her back.
DS is much better at tummy time (his head isn't as big:) I prop him in the boppy on the edge of the bed. That way I can sit on the floor under him and show him toys or books and dd can interact with him as well. If we do tummy time on the floor without the boppy I put a mirror and a few colorful toys down. He actually tries to reach for the toys and he really likes looking in the mirror. Dd likes to have tummy time too so all 3 of us lay in a circle on our tummy on a blanket with toys in the middle and that keeps DS happy for a bit. When he gets frustrated he starts to fuss and rolls onto his back or face plants.
I have to admit I'm not good at tummy time. As soon as DS lets out a whimper about it I pick him up. DH has always been better at letting them get frustrated (for a short amout of time) as they try and work it out.

10-15 minutes at a time!! Thats awesome! I'm also bad about picking him up once he starts to whimper...we usually do 3-5 minutes 3x per day.
As for ideas - DS really liked being on our chest and looking up at us or over our shoulder at the lights, ceiling fan, dog etc. Thats how he got started and now I just put him on the floor with toys.
Because we're fancy like that.
