What DH really stands for is...

DUMB husband! Arggggg! Two days in a row now, DH gets up to take a shower while I'm feeding DD in the rocker in our bedroom. Just as soon as she finishes and I manage to get her to sleep again for that wonderful extra hour of sleep 6-7AM, his alarm clock starts blarring because he only hits the snooze before showering instead of turning it off. Baby wakes up and cries. On top of that, he didn't tell me yesterday that the dog didn't poop in the morning when he took her out so she took a nice, big stinky right on the new carpet while I was feeding the baby. Threatened to MURDER him if his alarm went off again like that tomorrow morning! SO DUMB!

  • god it drives me crazy when he doesn't actually turn the alarm off! and the dog poo would really push me over the edge!

  • Our alarm clock is 'gentle wake'- it starts out soft and gradually gets louder. DH apparently doesnt wake up until its blaring, and sometimes he still doesnt wake up until I smack him. Luckily DS has been sleeping in his crib in his own room lately, so it doesnt wake him up anymore!

  • The ones that make me crazy are that Jared doesn't know how to gently close a door. He doesn't even KNOW he's "slamming" them until it wakes Liam up. And he'll put something in the oven or water on the stove and go out to the garage and then I'm running to the oven or stovetop with a sleeping baby while the oven timer is going off or there's a screaming tea kettle. (Usually, he's making Mother's Milk tea for me, to be fair, but I don't think I'd put tea on for someone then take off and leave them with the screaming kettle.)

  • Oh my gosh, the tea kettle would drive me bananas! I don't think men have the quiet concept down yet. Odds are, if it beeps, blares, squeals, screeches or slams....it will wake the baby up!
