New to The Bump

Prenatal Vitamins Question

Hey All,

I'm new to the bump and hubby and I are almost ttc. My doctor told me that I should try to find a prenatal vitamin that my stomach can tolerate before I get pregnant, because I already have a sensitive stomach and it would make things easier. Anyone have a good vitamin to recommend?

Thanks!

  • Good question to ask on the Trying to Get Pregnant board or First Trimester.  Welcome to the Bump!

  • Try the gummies by vitafusion, they don't have iron which usually tends to upset some womens' stomachs.

  • Target has a brand of gummies too that I would suggest.

  • Thanks for the info everyone. I will look into the gummies and repost this on the ttc board!

  • I recently started prenatal vitamins and found a gummy version. The are tasty and don't make me sick. However, they don't include Iron so I take a Flintstones Iron along with them. The brand is VitaFusions and I found them at Target and at Walmart.
  • I also have a problem with a LOT of things upsetting my tummy, and I take the NatureMade prenatals.  I get them at my local grocery store, and have never had an upset stomach from them.  I take them a little while after dinner with a large glass of water.

    Good luck!!!!!!

  • New Chapter Organics Prenatal are amazing - available at Whole Foods and GNC (may be available elsewhere also).  I have zero constipation, gas, nausea, etc.  I highly recommend spending the few extra dollars, it won't be wasted.

  • Prenatal vitamins that contain iron, calcium and folic acid are good as they are easy on stomach and help maintain mother's and babies health. Folic acid helps prevent birth defects. Calcium plays a vital role in building stronger bones early in life and keeping bones healthy later in life. Iron helps decrease the risk of premature delivery, low birth weight and infant mortality.
