Canadian mamas - sunblock

Has anyone found a sunblock to use? I looked for neutrogena at walmart and shoppers but they didn't have it. Is there another brand that is in Canada that has the proper ingredients?

Re: Canadian mamas - sunblock

  • I'm not in Canada, but here's another link with a bunch of good, safe sunblocks.  Maybe there is one on there that you can find online to ship to you or that you've seen around?

Ditto. I've combed the shelves for a 'non-sunscreen' i.e. zinc oxide and haven't been able to find it anywhere. It's frustrating.

ETA: I've checked online too...I've specifically looked for Neutrogena sensitive and California baby. Can't find someone to ship to Canada....

  • I bought California baby off of ebay.

Other ones that I can find in Canada (usually specialty baby stores and/or online strores in Canada) are Think Baby,  Substance Sun Care for Baby, and Little Twig.

I hadn't heard of these brands! Awesome, thanks!

Google and friends:)     I use some of the other substance products and saw that they have a sunblock, as well.   It's decent, but it goes on thick.  Little Twig goes on nice and it's a sunblock, but it has a lot of other ingredients...    I have yet to try Think Baby.   I also think that you should also be able to find Blue Lizard.

When shopping online for this stuff (because, I can't find it in local stores), I always just google "(insert brand here) canada" - then, I get a long list of online stores that sell it and ship here.

I know that Amazon.com will ship the stick type of the Neutrogena Pure & Free (or whatever it's called) to Canada, but shipping costs a lot.  Luckily, I'll be in the U.S. in a couple of weeks so I'm planning to stock up on baby sunblock while I'm there.

  • We use Nature's Gate KidsBlock. You can pick it up at a London Drugs in store if you live West of Ontario, but they also have an online store, it's $10-12. It's listed as a sunscreen, but the active ingredients are titanium oxide and zinc oxide.

  • Well.ca sells Badger baby sunblock which is a Zinc oxide based one....it is a Canadian store and free shipping :)
