Trying to Get Pregnant

CLOMID USERS!!!!!!!!!

Because I think this is needed tonight:

This message goes to everyone:  While on clomid you should probably be with a RE, not an obgyn. Most do not monitor you as well as you should. However, I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule. You should go in for a baseline u/s to check for cysts BEFORE you start clomid and to check to make sure your lining it at an appropriate thickness and possibly for cd3 blood work. Then around cd10, you should go in for another u/s to check your lining, for cysts and to check to see how many mature follies you have. Yes, the lining issues and cysts are rare side effects but checking the follies should be reason enough. This will tell you and your dr if you're close to O and if you're responding well. AND if you're over responding (wanna be the next Kate + 8??)

If needed, your dr might order another u/s for a few days down the road if you didn't have many or any mature follies. This monitoring is checking to make sure you and your reproductive system is safe and to give you optimal chances of conceiving.

To be honest, I wouldn't put lining issues in a rare category. I've seen them be the reason many women are pulled off Clomid. My RE didn't even bat an eye about it happening and mentioned that it does happen fairly frequently. Obviously it's not going to happen for everyone, but beyond hot flashes and low CM, it's not all that far down on the side effects category.

But that's all a debatable point. Beyond that- Yes. The sad thing is the ones who need to read it and get it through their heads probably won't.

Fair enough. I'll add it in next time I feel the need to post this.

No joke- amen to you lady!

Say, did that clomid thread earlier get deleted? What happened?

Yep, she deleted. That's why I posted this. She didn't like our advice ::single tear runs down cheek::

  • Clomid is not candy Surprise  Like Kdodge said, the ones who need the information will not read it or will make up excuses as to why it will not happen to them.  ::sigh::

  • Thanks for posting this.

I was px'ed Clomid (had the tests...) and I still haven't taken it b/c it makes me nervous. I'm giving my body another cycle to hopefully get in gear...

  • Thank you for posting this.. I seriously worry about people who are taking Clomid but are not being monitored.

as I was reading OP, I was thinking to myself "the lining thing really isn't all that rare at all"    I've met quite a few girls here on the boards that all had the clomid created lack of lining.
