smash cake pictures

i would love to see any that you guys have. i am having a professional photographer shoot their birthday party, so i was planning on doing the smash cake pictures at home on their actual birthday and shooting them myself. wanted some ideas on how best to set it up.

hope theo and marlo wanted to do a photo shoot for their birthday ;)

    I think it's really cute to have them sit on the table, instead of in their highchairs :)

    Thanks for asking this! I'd love to see people's shots!

    So far I have picked a room based on light (our family room gets good light) and have bought something to cover the floor to address DH's concerns about ruining our floors. But other than that, I'm still thinking... :)

    Thanks!  I have several others that show the balloons in the background more, but I love his expression on this one.  Those would be my suggestions - out of the highchair, and something fun (or completely neutral) in the background.  Enjoy!

    Check out the first few photos here: I used a piece of plexiglass to not ruin my backdrop fabric.

    He wasn't into the cake at all, so I kind of had to get him messy.

    you have me thinking that i should maybe do it on my dining room table, it's white and formica so easy to clean. and my sister painted an awesome mural in there so it would be a good backdrop.

    our photos were a major fail today :(  DS barely touched the cake with one finger no matter how we tried to entice me.  My only DS and cake photo is with him barely touching it with his finger....the others he is just looking at the cake in disgust.

     

    I am so sad over this-I really wanted the photos.
