Dh really likes it and is pushing hard. My opinion? Great classic name, but falls along the same line as Jack - cute name that is IMO over-done. Thoughts?
I love it. In fact, if I have another boy one day, I'll probably name him Henry. While it's popular, it's not ridiculously popular (it falls somewhere in the 60s nationally, I think).
I hear it a lot on here, but not so much IRL. Either, way it's a classic name that would hard to get sick of (like Elizabeth or James). I think it sounds great with Claire. Henry's actually a little less popular than Claire is--so if you're satisfied with how often you hear the name Claire, then I don't think you'd have a problem with Henry...
I'm not over it yet but I am a little weary of how it's a resurrected classic that seems to be growing in popularity. I do like it though, and it has a distinctively classic sound to it.
It seems popular on here, but I've only met one in real life. As opposed to the 15 Jacks I've met. I think it's never going to get that popular.
DH's middle name is Henry. As is his father's middle name. And two of his great-grandfather's names (one on each side of the family tree). Too much tradition to let it go.

I think the name Henry is a great name...as a teacher, I have never had a little boy with that name so I don't think is too popular (I like names that are not super popular). I personally don't want my kid to have a name that another child in the same classroom will have too.
Over it. It's a great name but I know 10 Henrys IRL and I run into at least 2 a week at the park. I'm sure it depends on where you are located as to its popularity. That being said, I still like the name but it's popularity would make it a no go for me.
Yes! I am so so so over Henry. There are SO many Henrys in our area-it's getting ridiculous. It is an awesome name, but maybe look at its popularity in your state.

I love Henry and have only heard it as a middle name in my area. I think it's precious and definitely grows into a nice adult name.

Only know one, he is 18months. It fits him well & he is ADORABLE. No not over it and NOT the same as Jack imo. The Jack I know is an arrogant a$$ in his 30s, until I meet another Jack, he is what I picture.

I like it; not super popular but not unheard of either. Classic & never really goes out of style or is seen as trendy. With our last name (4 syllables, Tamil) it'd never work though.

Not over it, but the novelty of it has worn off with it being very popular around here. DS has two good friends named Henry. We're probably using it as a middle for this next one, I still think it's a great name.
I love it (obviously), but I'm frustrated by the fact that it is growing in popularity. I wanted my son to have this name sine I was a kid (family name, plus I loved Henry Huggins), but now all of a sudden you do see it elsewhere. I've met two other Henrys (children) since mine was born. I definitely know more Jacks than Henrys, but you do see it more and more.
I, personally, would avoid Henry and Claire, though. The Time Travelers Wife is one of my favorite books, and the two main characters are Henry and Clare.
Re: Henry - Are you over this name?
I don't know any Henrys IRL, so I'm not sick of it.
But I might be a little biased since that's what we're naming our first boy

Am I over it? No. It's my DS's name and I love it just as much now, 23 months later, than I did when we chose it for him.
I must be really lame to you since we're considering Jack for this new baby boy's name.
Fortunately, I don't know any Henrys or Jacks under the age of 5 around here.
I still love it!
Henry & Claire are the main couple in The Time Traveler's Wife. The two names sound really good together!
Love it! I would be very pleased if my DD married a Henry some day! A great classic!
i've never been a fan of this name. i mean, it's okay, but i don't prefer it.
