Update: Keep your fingers crossed for my LO

So we went to the appt today and the doctor started with the ultrasound. He printed out some pictures of both kidneys and his bladder. The right kidney still looks completely normal. The left kidney is still enlarged but it is the same size as it was at 5 weeks old. So he said we could do 1 of 2 things. We could either go ahead with the surgery anyway just to get the problem taken care of or we could continue to monitor him and come back in a few months for another ultrasound. I asked him what he would do if it was his son. He said he would continue to montior him. So we agreed. He said 75% of the time it resolves on its own and the other 25% of the time it requires surgery to correct it. So since there wasn't any change we will be keeping an eye on him for any problems but other than that he doesn't need to go back for another 3 months.

I also asked him about my DD needing surgery. He didn't remember everything that her chart said so we quickly went over everything and since she isn't currently taking preventative antibiotics and is still doing ok we decided to not worry about scheduling the surgery. She has only had 1 UTI in the past year so as long as she doesn't have recurring infections he feels ok postponing it.

I walked in pessisimistic expecting to have to schedule 2 surgeries and walked out not needing to schedule any. Thanks for all of your well wishes :) I'm glad that is one less thing to stress out about at the moment.
