Sent Similac StrongMoms a nasty-gram

I am so very frustrated with their program.  I signed up as soon as the twins were born.  Months went by and I never even got so much as an email, much less any samples or coupons.  I finally called them, and they couldn't find my information, so the signed me up again.  A few weeks later, I got one small sample can.  That is all I have ever received.... no coupons, so special offers, no nothing.  I get so frustrated seeing girls post about $15 & $20 checks they get, long after their LO's are done with formula.  WTF, Similac?? How hard is it to target your offers to Moms appropriately?  You ask for all our details, children's names, ages, etc. when we sign up (so you can sell our info for marketing purposes), so you would think you could target coupons/offers to Mom's when their babies are STILL in the formula-taking stage.

I got a reply within 24 hours.  It was a nice enough customer service rep who gave the expected response...."the offers are sent randomly...blah blah...but we'll pass on your feedback".  She said she'd send me another sample can and some offers....so we'll see.  

Did any of you actually get checks when you needed them?  It just doesn't seem like it would be that hard for them to figure out, unless it truly is random.  But, you'd think that they'd want us to keep buying their product and entice us w/ coupons, rather than buying much cheaper generics.

All that said, I'm SO grateful for those of you who offer up your checks that you no longer need.  I have been the very grateful recipient of a few of them lately.  But, it frustrates me so much that I have to rely on that, rather than Similac ever sending me one.  

Sorry, this rant turned much more long-winded than I expected :)

    We had a similar experience with Good Start. I signed up for everything, and I think I received checks once, maybe twice, and they were $1 or $2. Meanwhile I'd see posts constantly on the boards from people with $5 and $8 Good Start checks that they were getting all the time (and am very grateful to those who sent them to us, these boards are such a great community!). It never even occurred to me to complain though, good for you!

    I got checks all the time after I had the twins, I want to say $30 worth every 6 weeks and I also signed up my mother using her email and address so I got another $30 worth because I was pissed off at Similac. Right before I had the twins the had some sort of program that they send MoMs cases of powder formula just for having twins all you had to do was prove you had twins by sending a copy of each of their cribs cards from birth! well when I called about it i was told they stopped doing it. The checks stopped coming around the time the twins were 10 months old and it also happened to be when we moved. 

     

    With Brady, if I got $20 dollars worth of checks that was a lot.

    I SWEAR they send it to moms who don't use them.  It's like they somehow know that you aren't using their brand so they bombard you until you do.  That's the way it seemed with me.  I EBF'ed DS for 13 months and never needed formula, but I received countless checks from Similac and Enfamil along with tons of sample cans.  I don't know how I got on a list, but I sent everything to moms on the board!

    Oh and while Brady was still on Similac was when they had the huge recall for beetles or something so I called and ripped them a new one because I couldn't find RTF anywhere. They sent me a case of RTF along with a huge stack of coupons. 

    I really think it depends on the person you deal with there. I would keep calling and give them hell!

    I don't understand it either. Before Grier was born, I got countless checks, a few sample cans and a coupon for a free simple pac. I really don't know how I even got on their list. If you want the sample cans, let me know. I might have a few checks laying around here, too.

    I had a similar problem. I got a couple of $5 checks. I got several from ladies on this board. What made me angry more than anything was my mom getting checks!!! She signed up to help me get more checks but, she checked the grandparent spot, wtf?!?!   Even with that I think I got like maybe 5 checks total between my mom and I!

    I hope they figure out a way to make you the "random" person way more often!

    . Me too. I have gotten so many checks (which I've graciously passed along on saif) and H is EBF. I have no idea why I've gotten so much. If I get anymore I'll pass them along!

    Its not just you, I had the same problem.  I called, signed up multiple times and never received anything.  I signed my mom up as a grandmother and she gets checks!  Go figure.
