Backstory:
Some "friends" of ours gave us their car seat, I knew it hadn't been in an accident. All of a sudden my DH got a text from the guy asking if we were done with the seat because his daughter needs it. Um why in the he** would we be done with it when A is only 21 mo. Needless to say we need a carseat. I want a Britax but it's out of our budget. So what would be the next best thing?
TIA
Re: Car seat
That sucks, did they give it to your or "loan" it...anyway, weird.
Diapers.com is having a pretty sweet 20% off Britax sale right now. Here are some code combos to try to bring that down even further!
15% off with code SLICKWIPES
15% off with code CLCX9528
5% off Your First Order AFF15PCT (New buyers only)

**Note: After having a puking incident on Tuesday and having to clean our Britax - it was a PAIN-IN-THE-ASS and took DH 3 hours. I don't know if others are any better, but I also HATE the way you tighten these kind. Going back I would totally have got an Evenflo Triumph.
I *just* bought 3 Evenflow Triumphs. I was totally sold on having to have a Britax...until I looked at Consumer Reports and saw taht the Triumph was out ranking the Boulevard in safety ratings.
The Triumph even outranks Evenflow's newest model in safety ratings.
Thanks ladies!
I thought after I said next best thing, that I probably worded it wrong. Not at all what I meant.
And yes they gave it to us, not a loaner. It's so weird. We used to be very close, but they have totally pulled away. Don't know why, don't have the energy to care. Besides the fact that DH can't stand the wife...
In that case I'd say "We thought you gave it to us. Austin will need it for another 3 years at least." and leave it at that. If they get snotty, then drop it on their doorstep I guess.
We have this one as well, and I love it! It's big so he is comfy, and easy to adjust the straps (FF, RFing can be a PITA at times). It's also easy to install.
I totally would do this, but his daughter is 19 had an "oops" baby and I know she needs the car seat more than we do. The other kicker is that we are storing their boat on the side of our house...
We are FF so this is a great tip, thank you!
The maestro is the second seat we got and its great!
Here's my other tip - We went to get the Graco Nautilus 3 in 1 at Target when it was on sale. Of course they were out of stock. So I got a rain check. The rain check said you could also get a "similar" item for the same % off. So we instead got the Maestro for 23% off so it was only $60-ish. Such a steal. So you might look and see if Target has any sales since everything they have on sale is always sold out.
