Face/Neck rash (sudden onset)

We're going to the doc later this afternoon but I picked up Rhayna from preschool and she looked fine but I didn't inspect her closely. We got home and I went to take her out of her seat and she has a rash all over her face and neck. She's very sensitive skinned and will get rashes when she eats too much sugar but its always on one cheek and never like on her forehead or anything. This is all over.

I am worried about chicken pox (a guy at DH's work had it but we're both immune from having the disease). I actually WANT her to get it naturally but NOT 3 days before we leave on a 1800 mile road trip.

I tried to take a pic but the flash either blows it out or its too dark. They are individual bumps all over her face and neck.

Thoughts?

  • Hayden had something similar about a month ago. Called the pedi and they told me it was a viral rash thst was going around. It lasted for several days and gradually moved down the body (was first on face/neck, then chest/arms, then legs).

Was he sick? Like otherwise? Because Rhayna is not.

nope, other than the rash he was perfectly fine. After a few hours it did start to itch him some but cream helped that.

  • We had the same thing today, but Elijah's also had a fever for a few days. Our pedi said Roseola. It's just a virus, so we are giving him motrin and using lotion to soothe his skin.
