nbr: fundraiser basket ideas

We're having a fundraiser this week at work and I've been given $60 to make a gift basket to raffle off.  Any ideas?  Other baskets already made are: online games and codes, wine, gardening, summer fun, Everything Seattle, movie night.

  • Tman's school has a fundraising auction every year.  Last year, I got this awesome basket they called a "pantry basket."  It had all kinds of pantry stuff:  pancake mix, flour, cereal, soups, crackers, etc.  It was awesome.

I also got a pancake basket:  frying pan, fancy syrup, fancy pancake mix, spatula set, mixing bowl, wisk, etc.  That was cool, too.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
  • oh or what about several rolls of wrapping paper, ribbons, gift tags, some generic happy birthday and congratulations cards, cute gift bags, etc?  like a stock your wrapping station thing?

  • pizza...you should be able to get a pizza stone for a good price, baking, fancy breakfast. Probably something lame to most but what about household cleaners...I love the method line they smell so good and are non toxic! What about a reading basketyou could get a book light and bookmark a gc to the book store or amazon and put in a list of the best sellers. Beer!

  • We had some fun ones at our auction this year - a Glee basket (DVD's, slushie machine...), a Mad Housewife basket (Mad Housewife wine, super cute apron, some nice cleaning products like Mrs. Myers...), and adult 'tea party' basket (all the stuff to make long island ice tea, a cute glass beverage dispenser, mason jar-type cups), game night basket (a couple fun board games, a white board to keep score on, stuff to make a specialty cocktail, a few fun snacks...).  Kids baskets also do well at our auction - one of the best sellers this year was a Star Wars basket - movies, Star Wars books, Star Wars legos...

  • The ones that have brought in the most money at the last couple of auctions I worked on at KW were the Beers from around the world w/ fancy mugs and pub snacks and the Workload basket, which was a bunch of engineers who voulnteerd a couple hours each to do any types of housework that the winner needed... You should round up some hunky firefighters to volunteer a few hours and spend the $60 on a pedi and HH :p
  • I like the pizza idea!

Girls Night In - trashy magazines, snacks, some chick flick DVD's, etc.

If lots of people have kids/grandkids you could do an awesome kid basket with toys, art supplies, etc.

One more... anyone into fitness? You could get a nike plus sensor for an ipod/iphone, water bottle, running socks. I'm sure a running store would have lots of fun things to choose from.

  • A Best of Trader Joe's basket - you can get a lot and great stuff for $60 or a Rainy day Kids basket...Lord knows we need that frequently here

  • What about a Tea Party basket. With a little tea pot and cups, nice teas and good honey.
  • How about a Going Green basket with items like re-useable sandwich bags, those water bottles with filters in them, wool dryer ball, organic lotions & soaps.  Some recipies for natural cleaning products you can make at home and some essential oils to add to them.

  • An Italian/pasta basket.  Get a neat colander and fill it with pastas, red sauces, and a red spoon/spatula thingy.  Cause I hate ruining my white ones!  You could also get some more fresh style pasta from the pasta place in Bellevue.

    Or an emergency preparedness kit/basket.
