Father's Day

For father's day, I would love to do clay footprints and handprints and frame them in a shadow box with a picture of LO. It's really for me too of course, ha. I have no idea how to do this though. Can I do it at home? Or do I have to buy a kit?

Anyone try this before?

I know there are such kits online, I was looking to do it cheaply.

    I think Walmart sells them. I received one at my baby shower. I am just a little worried if I try to do it for Father's day, I won't be able to get her to open her hands long enough!

    My mother is a dentist so I went to her practice when he was 1 month old (to the day) and we did castings of his feet and hands as well as feet and hand imprints. I only have experience with the dental impression material so I can't say anything about the store bought kits but I can tell you that the deeper the sleep the better and it's helpful to have another person help you.
