Our girls are eating 5 oz every 3 hours, so 5 - 5oz bottles a day.
They are not always finishing the whole botte, some they do and some they don't. Keep in mind they were preemies weighing 2 and 3 lbs and now weigh about 12 1/2 and 13 1/2 lbs so they have never had more than about 5 1/2 oz at a time. I am just wondering if them not eating all the bottles is a sign that we should try bigger quantities every 4 hours? They eat 2 purees a day mixed with rice cereal at lunch and oatmeal cereal at night.
What do you ladies think?
TIA!
Re: How did you know when it's time to switch from 3 to 4 hour stretches?
We switched to a 4-hour daytime schedule around 7 months b/c they weren't eating finishing their bottles and because their naps were really crappy. But, we still give 5 bottles (5am--so DH and I can get ready for work but we may stop this), 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 6:30pm--bedtime bottle).
