2nd Trimester

I'm really loving not knowing

if this baby is a boy or a girl.

When strangers ask me, I honestly can say I don't know ... and then that is the end of the conversation! No extra questions, like about the name or inane comments about hairbows or football.

(but I wouldn't have changed knowing the sex of my firstborn ... I like having it both ways, apparently!)

  • Good,  I am glad to hear this.   I found out with my first, but would like it to be a surprise this time around.  I keep doubting myself, so this is a very good point to remember.

  • People always ask me why we aren't finding out.  Then I have to launch into a diatribe about how we have one of each, blah, blah, blah....
  • I agree...and let me tell you, there is something really special about hearing "it's a..." and then getting to HOLD your baby.  It was great.  When I had DS, the midwife asked my hubs if he wanted to tell me what it was.

  • We didn't find out with DS, and it was great.  But since this one will be c-section, I figure it won't hurt to find out now. We have two days to decide if we want to find out or not.
  • We aren't finding out-- and it's surprising how many friends and family love that we aresn't finding out.  I think they are looking forward to the call after birth- as much as we are when we find out at the birth,
