I just learned that a few hospitals in the area sell diapers to thier employees at a discounted rate. A box of Pampers 197 size 4 is $44.99 throught Diapers.com but the hospital sells them for $18. Would it be dishonest to have an employee friend buy them for us? The friend offered but DH said it was dishonest while I am all for it. [Poll]

Re: Is this dishonest?
My Aunt works at Microsoft and buys us software, Xbox games and gear, etc. through the company store. Their policy isn't super specific. We just give her money and she buys it using her employee discount.
I never had a problem with it and in fact she freaks out if we buy something retail because "I could have got that for you for so much less through the company store!"
Not quite the same as diapers but same concept. If she offered and won't get in trouble then I say go for it. Diapers are ridiculously expensive.
That was why I was all over that. I went ahead and told her to please get me at least one box. Looking at the poll it seems most people agreed.
I'd do it in a heartbeat! It may be a teensy bit dishonest, but if the friend is offering, I'm sure that she feels like it'll be ok for her to give you the deal.
When Tegan was born, she was wearing preemie diapers (because she was teeny, even full term, lol!) and the nurse sent us home with our open package of preemie diapers (which we'd used 2 of) and a brand new pack of preemie diapers. She said they had them in stock, but never used them because their NICU didn't accept babies born earlier than 35 weeks.
